Bayesian Analysis V : Amplitude Estimation , Multiple Well Separated

چکیده
Bayesian probability theory is used to estimate the amplitude of a single exponentially decaying sinusoid in NMR free induction decay (FID) data. The posterior probability for the amplitude is derived independent of the phase, frequency, decay rate constant, and variance of the noise. The estimate is shown to be accurate and precise in the sense that as the noise approaches zero, the estimate approaches the true value of the amplitude and the uncertainty in the estimate approaches zero. The uncertainty in the estimate is shown to varying inversely with the square root of the sampling rate. Finally, the calculation is applied in two examples. The rst example demonstrates probability theory's ability to estimate frequencies and amplitudes in very low signal-to-noise. The second example illustrates the use of this calculation when the data contain multiple, well-separated sinusoids.

Joint Bayesian Stochastic Inversion of Well Logs and Seismic Data for Volumetric Uncertainty Analysis
Here in, an application of a new seismic inversion algorithm in one of Iran’s oilfields is described. Stochastic (geostatistical) seismic inversion, as a complementary method to deterministic inversion, is perceived as contribution combination of geostatistics and seismic inversion algorithm. This method integrates information from different data sources with different scales, as prior informat...
متن کاملBayesian change point estimation in Poisson-based control charts
Precise identification of the time when a process has changed enables process engineers to search for a potential special cause more effectively. In this paper, we develop change point estimation methods for a Poisson process in a Bayesian framework. We apply Bayesian hierarchical models to formulate the change point where there exists a step < /div> change, a linear trend and a known multip...

Bayesian spectrum analysis is still in its infancy. It was born when E. T. Jaynes derived the periodogram 2] as a suucient statistic for determining the spectrum of a time sampled data set containing a single stationary frequency. Here we extend that analysis and explicitly calculate the joint posterior probability that multiple frequencies are present, independent of their amplitude and phase,...

متن کاملBayesian Estimation of the Multiple Change Points in Gamma Process Using X-bar chart
The process personnel always seek the opportunity to improve the processes. One of the essential steps for process improvement is to quickly recognize the starting time or the change point of a process disturbance. Different from the traditional normally distributed assumption for a process, this study considers a process which follows a gamma process. In addition, we consider the possibility o...
